In my young career I have been very lucky to have great trainers, including Sleepwalkers member Janet Macy, who helped in my intermediate and advanced hypnosis courses with the late Dr. Jeanne Neher-Schurz. Janet has recently taken on the legacy of our great friend, teacher, and mentor and re-opened Dr. Jeanne's school. I had taken other classes and continued my education over the years after graduating from that school, including very recently when I attended Mark's New Curriculum training for the SAH in Las Vegas late last year. Obviously, I was impressed.

What I'm really getting down to is this: People ask me all the time where I received my training. I have a strong grasp of the fundamental basics of hypnosis to the point where I can expand my practice with relative ease. I am confident in the skills that I have been taught by these trainers to the point where I can make a living with this skill set and build on it every day. And because people ask, I owe it to Mark and Janet, as well as the person who is asking, to tell them that these two individuals helped me get to where I am today.

A few of you have asked me where I learned what I know, and all I can do in response is point my finger at Mark and Janet. I use things I learned from them on a daily basis with clients.

So that's my 2 cents on the issue of trainings, in my experience. I'm sure there are other trainers on this list or people who have trained under different teachers. I do not wish to take anything away from them, but I can only comment on what I have seen. And I have seen working professionals impressed by a basic introduction training, walking away with new skills and techniques they had never seen.

I have been suffering with headaches due to TMJ and clenching my teeth at night. After receiving instruction from Janet and practicing her suggestions, I have been pain and headache free! Whoo Hoo!

Janet; I had to leave the L.B. sleepwalkers meeting in a rush last night. However, I want to thank you personally for the time and effort you put forth in making last nights meeting educational, interesting, fun and well worthwhile. Also, I always feel it's such a great bonus when I leave a meeting with such great stuff. Of course I mean your very well put together handout. Thank you so much for adding to my life's experience.

I am really looking forward to your upcoming presentation at IACH. I'll get there early so I can get a front row seat. As you already know, I don't hear so good. However, I did hear well enough to know that I want to be there when and wherever you give a presentation. To paraphrase what Sally Field said at the Oscars one night some years ago. "Janet, you tranced me, you really tranced me!"

Let me also add at least three (if not more) cheers to Janet's stellar presentation of regression therapy at the Long beach outing. She touched all the bases in an informative rather than pedantic fashion. I agree with Boe that a handout is always a special bonus which allows the participants to concentrate fully on the lecture rather than having to take voluminous notes. Hip hooray.
